As far as I could remember, all I ever wanted to be was skinny! I wanted to look like every girl on tv, I wanted to fit in single digits clothes, I wanted to no longer be the fat friend.

That is all I cared about. And you know what that got me doing? EVERY stupid fad diet out there, and this was 7 years ago plus, so there wasn’t as much as there is now.

Now before I go any further, I am not posting this to bash all those crazy diets, how you can lose 80lbs in 4 months with no exercise or only eating 800 calories a day.

What I am going to say is I AM WARNING YOU TO STAY AWAY!

I know what it’s like to wanna get to your goal yesterday! I know what it’s like to want to get quick results or you give up. Trust me, I have been there. OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

And that is why it took me so damn long to finally figure this shit out!

It was hard to realize that it wasn’t about getting skinny. I mean honestly, who wants to be skinny? I realized, I wanted to be strong. I wanted to be fit. I wanted to be healthy. And let’s be honest, I loved to eat so there was NO WAY IN HELL I would drink juice all day or eat little to no food.

I am telling you that even if you do one of these crazy fads, and you lose weight, the second you stop, you will gain it back. They aren’t meant for you to become healthy either, a lot of them mess up your metabolism, cause heart issues, and more… I mean is that worth it in the end?

Just think about it before doing a quick fix.

Go for the life style change, I promise that is something you won’t regret!

  1. It is so true, fad diets don’t work as they are a “diet” not a lifestyle. The things that stick are lifestyle changes where you become your healthy weight over usually a long period of time. I too have fallen into the fad diet trap many times, they work short term and that is all they are designed to do. After that if you don’t stick to clean eating the weight will just creep back on, and so begins the yo-yo.
